RJAE conducted a Phase I Environmental Site Assessment on three (3) contiguous tracts of land in Cataño that compromise an area that was formerly the U.S., Navy’s Cataño Storage facility. The assessment was conducted to evaluate known environmental conditions associated with the 180-acre site that includes 60 petrochemical storage tanks, a marine terminal, and associated pipelines. During the course of the investigation, RJAE performed a records review of available published information, a site inspection, interviews with selected facility staff and managers, a sensitive habitat area review, and preparation of a project environmental assessments report. The work was accomplished in accordance with the project’s goals and objectives, and was completed on schedule and within budget.
